Renting vs. Buying--Why it is STILL the SMART Choice

  • 70% of those who were and were not concerned about job loss still think it is a good time to buy a house.
  • 69% of those polled said they were more likely to buy a house than rent if they were moving.
  • 63% of renters still desire home ownership.
  • 74% of those polled believe that owning a home makes more sense because it protects against rent increases, and it is still a good investment.
  • 2 in 3 Americans believe that it buying a home is a safe investment (This trend hass been consistent for the past 3 quarters).
