The Regret Factor
“What have I done??” All of us have probably repeated these words at one time or another and for many different contexts. Buying a home shouldn’t be one of those times when you have to use this phrase. Unfortunately, the fear of a fragile economy coupled with high unemployment rates has made many buyers hesitant to buy a home. After all, why buy a home now when, if experts are correct and the economy falls again, I can buy a home for $10,000 less in a couple of months?
While this logic may sound like buying SMART, we would argue that you need to examine your priorities. What is your purpose for buying a home? Do you see it as an investment opportunity or a place to live? If it is an investment opportunity, then waiting may be a better idea, but if you’re looking for a place to live, love and create memories, then buying a house now is buying SMART—even if the value of the house DOES go down. In fact, as we keep in touch with our clients, we’ve never heard them speak of regret. It’s actually quite the opposite—they cannot stop smiling and bragging about how happy they are in their new home!
At the Dailey Group, we are committed to helping you buy SMART. We believe that a home is a place for pride, peace, preference and pleasure. Sometimes the emotional component to buying a home IS worth more than the financial benefits.
We’d be glad to meet with you and discuss your priorities in the home buying process.
Committed to helping you Buy. Sell. Live. SMART,
